Danny Speirs’ career didn’t follow the traditional path you might expect of a growth marketer. After completing a degree in Sport Science and a Master’s in Strength and Conditioning, he began his career working as a coach in professional sport.

However, instead of dedicating his professional development hours to programming, periodisation, or pedagogy, Danny found himself engrossed in marketing—diving into Meta ads, PPC, email, and automation. He committed fully to this path, founding XMarketing, a digital marketing consultancy for strength and conditioning businesses and their owners.

Fast forward to 2021, and with an opportunity to broaden his experience in a new domain and country, Danny moved to Dubai to join TGP Consultancy as a Marketing Coordinator. There, he delivered on major projects at Expo City, including COP28.

With the long-term ambition of blending his expertise in both sport and marketing, Danny’s objective was always to return to sport technology as a marketing leader.

Today, he is the Growth Marketing Manager at PlayerData, one of the fastest-growing sport technology companies in the world. Alongside this, he lectures at Leeds Beckett University, where he leads the Digital Business module for first-year Sport Management students.
